Forged Plan of the Notre-Dame-des-Anges Chapel [Back to contents]

The plan that was tampered with in the National Archives bears the shelfmark no. 273AP/37.

Plan of Notre-Dame-des-Anges

Original watercolor plan of the church of Rochemaure preserved in the National Archives (273AP/37): "Four openings were cut, at an undetermined date, into the original document at the location of four of the church's six chapels. The original document was then backed onto two sheets of thick paper applied to the reverse in order to fill the hollowed-out areas. It is within these openings, on these added sheets, that the following names were written in a gray ink different from the ink originally used: 'Chapelle de Mr du Verdier', 'Chapelle de Mr Cheynet de Beaupre', 'Chapelle de Mr de Jovyac' and 'Chapelle de Mr Chambon d'Espenel'."
