The Association "In Defense of the Cheynet Surname" [Back to contents]
We formed a nonprofit association under the French 1901 law under the name In Defense of the Cheynet Surname in order to defend ourselves against all attacks directed at the name Cheynet, whether by altering it or by attempting to attach a noble particle to it.
We are fighting against all the destruction and forgery of civil records committed against our name for more than forty years now.
The association is open to all genuine Cheynets, but not only to them. All those who care about the history of the Ardeche and the Rochemaure area, genealogists, and everyone willing to help us defend the honor of our name are welcome.
